Know her name. Read her story:
"Put simply, my freshman year at UCLA was tumultuous. Within one month of arriving at this school, I was thrust into the fight against the 2014 tuition hike. Before I could even walk to Bunche without getting lost, I found myself driving through the night with other students to get to UCSF to protest the Regents meeting where the vote to increase tuition by 27.7% was to take place.
For me, activism was never a choice. I was that kid who tried to handwash my clothes to save the $1.50 it costs to use the dorm laundry machine. I would sit in economics classes, listening to people debate the efficacy of food stamps while knowing that I wouldn't have made it through high school without them.
It's been a long road to get here — but I wouldn't have asked for anything different. From starting out as an intern in the USAC Office of the President to establishing UCLA's first Public Service Living Learning Community, my journey has brought me from Detroit to Los Angeles to Washington, D.C.

USAC is not the only avenue through which we can achieve change. There are countless student groups that have continuously fought for a better university that will continue to do so. At the end of the day, change starts within our own communities. But what I can hope to do is to utilize the political & financial capital of the EVP office and the multi-million dollar institution that is USAC to truly serve our students who now, more than ever, need our support. In a political climate in which our fellow Black, Brown, Trans, Queer, Undocumented, Muslim siblings are constantly under attack, we must be here. For them.
I will shape the EVP office into one that unapologetically and unabashedly prioritizes student needs — not just when it’s convenient or easy. We will be proactive, not reactive. This why I’m running: to resist, insist, and persist to ensure that each & every Bruin is not just living, but thriving, & to make sure that every Bruin can feel at home at UCLA.

And so, it's with the greatest honor of my life (so far) that I now say:

My name is Chloe Pan, & I'm running to be your next USAC External Vice President." #usacvoiceyourvote @electionboard
