Blessed night kings and queens! Here is a short tutorial on how to take care of your hamstrings when they’re not too happy with 😅. The modality that I choose to use was the Power Plate 🏋🏾‍♂️ , which is a brand of machine offering whole-body vibration 🌀training. You adjust the frequency of the vibration to create instability in your body. The theory is that your muscles benefit because they must activate reflexively in response to the vibration. Vibration training on the power plate increases range of motion beyond that achieved with static stretching alone.

1️⃣ Bottoms Up Ham Stretch: place elbows onto your quads without excessive rounding of the spine through hinging at the hip. Slowly extend the knees in this position to take hamstring through active range of motion! 3 sets or 6-10 reps
2️⃣ SL Ham Hinge Stretch: place your heel on elevated surface with a slight bend to the knee. Keeping your knee from fully extending you will target the muscle belly of the hamstring. PNF (proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation) is used here as I isometrically stretches my hamstring by holding my position for 6-8 seconds to increase range of motion. 3 sets of 3-4 reps each
3️⃣ SL RDL: lock floating leg into extension to stabilize the hips, hinge at the hip until the floating leg and torso are parallel to the surface you are standing on. Pause at the bottom of the RDL and repeat. 3 sets of 8-10 each
